Please allow me to introduce myself - my name is Amy Growcott, I am a ballet historian and a writer and this is my Substack, Dance & Write.

Ballet has been my passion since I was 14 and my passion for ballet history developed overtime. Since then, it has been a huge part of my life. Writing is another of my joys and passions, and it’s something that has always been there, something I always enjoyed doing as a hobby until I learned just how joyous it can really be. I have my own ballet history website The Marius Petipa Society, which I initially started as a digital platform dedicated to the legacy of the 19th century Ballet Master Marius Petipa. Now, as I spread my wings further, it is becoming a platform that aims to cover as much of ballet history as possible.
